Jimmy and I grew up together on 5th avenue. We built forts together, played pirates, and messed around with each other through 6th grade, when we went our own ways. We lived on the same block across from the recreation hall in the Nessler civic center where we spent many summer days playing basketball and ping-pong. I was proud of him for playing on the Stingaree varsity district champion football team. He went on to college, I think Sam Houston, where he got a teaching degree in industrial arts. His health declined for several years before his death. He died in his own bed at the home he grew up in on 5th avenue. Miss him. God bless him.
