Kay Price Jones

Went to Stephen F. Austin State University 68-72, B.A. in Spanish and English, then 72-74 M.Ed.in Guidance and Counseling. Have been teaching since 1972 -- One year in Port Lavaca and one in Anahuac and the last 37 in Friendswood, Texas. Discovered the theatre stage in 1990 and have been performing and directing in Community theatres around the Bay Area ever since. Marched in the SFASU Lumberjack band all four years there and then joined a Community Concert Band for a few years before getting up on stage. I live in Friendswood now. We sold my house and my mother's Galveston Condo (just in time, huh?) and moved into a large townhouse in Friendswood with both boys and girlfriends and cats and dogs. Jonathan and fiance of 7 years Cari, now have their own apt. nearby and Jordan is close by, too. Mom is 87 and doing very well, except for that memory thing. I love teaching high school and couldn't be happier. Married in 78 and divorced in 87. We tried really hard but it just wasn't right. Have been single ever since, working days and theatre at night. Now living in Colorado. Since October 2014.

I remember the fun on all the band trips with Jerry Atwood playing the accordion in the aisles and Suzy Belk singing along, watching Shirley Zenthoefer in "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying", trying to keep up with Betsy DeLay's never ending "critical commentary", and the football games, ahh, the football games, Stingarettes, Mr. Renfroe. Happy, happy times.
